The development and problems of recycled polyester industry
since this year, the situation of chemical fiber industry has been very good, which is a recognized fact in the industry. However, the impact of the "surprisingly good" manufacturing process on the characteristics of work intensity is abnormal, which makes enterprise bosses uneasy. Therefore, actively participating in relevant meetings, communicating with upstream, downstream and peers, and communicating with leaders and experts have become an effective way for them to alleviate their anxiety
driven by this mentality, with the help of the advantages and brand effect accumulated over the years, the Sixth China International recycled polyester conference, hosted by China Chemical Fiber Association and hosted by China recycled chemical fiber professional committee, Shanghai China National fiber and other units, attracted nearly 250 participants on the opening day, including representatives from more than 10 countries and regions such as the United States and Europe. Participants generally believed that recycled polyester products should be "justified" at all levels, from national policies to consumer attitudes
from supplement to partial replacement to improve the efficiency of new material design, production and manufacturing generation
the development speed of China's recycled polyester industry is amazing. In terms of production capacity alone, it will reach 7million tons by the end of 2010. Among them, the capacity of recycled polyester staple fiber has accounted for more than 80% of the global total capacity. Duanxiaoping, President of China Chemical Fiber Association, praised in the opening speech of the conference: "under the conditions that the government does not have too many incentive policies and the recycling system is very imperfect, China's recycled polyester industry is still developing very well."
indeed, in just one year from the last conference to the present, the recycled polyester industry has made breakthroughs in many aspects. For example, last year, the production of recycled filament from polyester waste was still in its infancy, involving few enterprises, and the technical equipment needs to be improved. This year, recycled filament has gradually become an important variety of recycled polyester, which is conducive to improving the utilization rate of renewable resources and product added value. "With the enrichment of recycled polyester varieties and the improvement of quality, the industrial status of recycled products has gradually changed from supplement to partial substitution, and the price difference with primary polyester products has also narrowed from more than 2000 yuan/ton to 500 ~ 1000 yuan/ton." Lin Shidong, Secretary General of China renewable chemical fiber professional committee, was gratified
sun ya, deputy general manager of Cixi Jiangnan Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., described the characteristics of the enterprise with several figures: it has been established for 11 years, and currently has an annual output of 80000 tons of recycled polyester staple fiber; 95% of waste materials are imported from more than 20 countries, and 80% of products are exported; It is the only enterprise in the United States that exports American polyester staple fiber with zero anti-dumping duty; After wastewater treatment, 90% of the reclaimed water is reused, and the energy consumption per unit product is 70% of that of similar enterprises in China
embarrassing fact
however, an embarrassing fact is that the operating rate of China's recycled polyester industry is only about 50%, and the phenomenon of idle capacity is prominent. Participants believed that the main reasons were limited industrial concentration, rapid expansion of conventional production capacity, consumers' concerns about recycled polyester products, and imperfect raw material recycling system
at present, the renewable polyester production capacity is concentrated in the eastern coastal areas, of which Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces account for more than 70% of the total production capacity of the country. There are 6 domestic enterprises with a production capacity of more than 80000 tons/year and 14 enterprises with a production capacity of more than 50000 tons. Although the industrial concentration has increased, it is still not enough. However, due to the limitations of management level, technical equipment, market development and talent status, more enterprises have discontinuous production and weak scale effect. Their products are mainly low-grade cotton, fillers and non-woven fabrics. For the filament products and high-end knitwear with moisture absorption and sweat wicking function required by the international market, facing the future research, the first is to launch the innovative plasticization concept, Energizer materials and high-end home textile fabrics
until now, it is still difficult for domestic consumers to accept the new consumption concept of "waste renewable resources consumer goods". For example, many consumers are worried about home textile fillers produced from waste polyester bottles, which are equivalent to "black heart cotton". Because of this, there are many inward and outward oriented enterprises in the industry. It is more feasible for enterprises that export recycled polyester products to Europe, the United States and other places with relatively perfect renewable resources to sell packaging materials and products containing packaging to foreign consumers who are willing to use recycled products
