it is reported that this year, Tianjin Port will complete the construction of 150000 ton waterway phase II project, Beida breakwater phase II project, beigangchi container terminal phase I project, beigangchi ro Ro Wharf Project, Beijiang 110 kV substation project, container logistics center start-up area yard phase II project and other major projects. The port cargo throughput will reach 180 million tons and the container throughput will reach 3.6 million TEUs

Yu Rumin, director of Tianjin Port Authority, revealed that Tianjin Port will focus on deep-water, international and multifunctional development in the future. In the next six years, Tianjin Port will build a 200000 ton deep-water channel on the muddy beach and build a corresponding deep-water berth; Build a crude oil wharf of 250000 to 300000 tons to adapt to the development direction of deep-water and large-scale modern shipping. By 2010, the port throughput will reach 260 million tons and the container throughput will reach 10 million TEUs.
